Halbbruder, meaning "Half Brothers", are Teutonic Knights who have not taken the Order's vows of service for life. Identified in battle by the Tau cross which features prominently on their chests, Halbbruder are a mainstay of the Teutonic Order and are equipped with weaponry and armour befitting of a noble knight.
