Some of the first gunpowder-armed cavalry, Early Reiters are armed with a brace of pistols and a sword, and protected by heavy armour. They first appeared in the German states, where they were known as Reiters (riders). After the enemy are softened up by close-range pistol fire, they charge in and finish them off the old fashioned way.
